Alaska Black Bear

Black Bear photos are a common memento of visitors to Alaska. These mostly gentle giants inhabit much of Alaska's wilderness. Catching glimpses of Black Bears is a regular occurrence for most Alaskan residents.

Because of their relative abundance, many people venturing into the Alaskan wilderness will come away with a Black Bear photo or two. Hiking, kayaking, flight-seeing tours, mountain biking, and wildlife tours are some of the activities that put people in closer contact with Black Bears.

Bear viewing tours are also available and offer the best odds of capturing Black Bear photos. Be sure to bring your camera when you visit Halibut Cove, as you never know what lurks around the corner!
